چکیده
Abstract The present study reports a sustainable source of lignin, from termite frass. Lignin was extracted using Klason’s method and subjected to polarization studies check the inhibition efficiency measured electrochemical performance coated sample on carbon steel impedance spectroscopy. anticorrosive property determined in simulated corrosive environment (0.1 M NaOH 0.5 NaOH). morphological analysis surface both bare metal lignin-coated ones, before after exposure environment, recorded atomic force microscopy (AFM), scanning electron (SEM), energy-dispersive X-Ray spectroscopy (EDX). lignin showed maximum at 600 ppm solution. Moreover, exhibited about 70% corrosion as by potentiodynamic AFM SEM analyses further corroborated protection when with lignin. Hence, suggests frass biological suitable for applications. Lignin-solubilizing ability of actinomycetes isolated from termite (Termitidae) gut.
The lignocellulose-degrading abilities of 11 novel actinomycete strains isolated from termite gut were determined and compared with that of the well-characterized actinomycete, Streptomyces viridosporus T7A. Lignocellulose bioconversion was followed by (i) monitoring the degradation of [14C]lignin- and [14C]cellulose-labeled phloem of Abies concolor to 14CO2 and 14C-labeled water-soluble produc...

Intrinsically conducting polymers (ICPs) have been considered for use in various applica‐ tions. One of the most important applications of these materials which are attracting consid‐ erable attention in the most recent times is in corrosion protection of oxidizable metals [1]. The effective use of conducting polymers for corrosion protection of metals can be carried out by different methods; l...
متن کاملLignin from Micro- to Nanosize: Applications
Micro- and nanosize lignin has recently gained interest due to improved properties compared to standard lignin available today. As the second most abundant biopolymer after cellulose, lignin is readily available but used for rather low-value applications. This review focuses on the application of micro- and nanostructured lignin in final products or processes that all show potential for high ad...
متن کاملSex attractants in frass from bark beetles.
Shortly after Kangas et al. (1) reported that a-terpineol was the major component of a primary host attractant for Blastophagus piniperda L., Silverstein, Rodin, and Wood (2) revealed the identity of three other terpene alcohols that play a role in the orientation of bark beetles. However, Silverstein et al. concluded, from laboratory bioassay, that a mixture of the three terpene alcohols they ...
متن کاملTowards Sustainable Open Source
Open source software is gaining momentum in several forms. In addition to the huge increase in the number of open source projects started and the remarkable rise of FLOSS adoption by companies and governments, new models of participation in the movement are emerging rapidly. For instance, companies are increasingly releasing some of their proprietary software systems as open source on one hand ...
